TIM FLANNERY – LONGTIME THIRD BASE COACH FOR THE
WORLD SERIES CHAMPION SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS —
TO HOST AND PERFORM WITH BAND AT BENEFIT CONCERTS IN
REDWOOD CITY, MILL VALLEY, NAPA AND SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA
FOR INJURED FAN BRYAN STOW ON JANUARY 24, 25, 26 AND 27

Longtime San Francisco Giants third base coach, Tim Flannery (www.timflannery.com), has organized four more benefit concerts for Giants fan Bryan Stow who was critically injured when he was attacked in the Dodger Stadium parking lot after the season opener for the teams in late March 2011.

The initial concert will take place on Thursday, January 24, at the Fox Theatre in Redwood City, California with the three subsequent concerts occurring at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, California on Friday, January 25 , The Uptown Theatre in Napa, California on Saturday, January 26 and Kuumbwa Jazz in Santa Cruz, California on Sunday, January 27 (please see links below for info on each).

The shows will feature Tim — who has performed with such rock notables as Bob Weir, Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Jimmy Buffett, Merle Haggard, Jackie Greene and others over the years — along with his band, The Lunatic Fringe and special musical guests.

The coach, former player and broadcaster thought his music would be the best way to help Bryan and his family.

Tickets for all shows are on sale now with VIP packages available for most.

All proceeds will be going to the Stow Foundation.

Bryan Stow — a proud father of two, a paramedic and huge fan of the San Francisco Giants — is on the road to recovery and making progress.

He sustained severe injuries to his brain and was placed into a medically induced coma after the incident.

It would be months before he would go outside.

Since the tragedy, he has amassed a fan club of his own including Tim, home run king Barry Bonds, two-time Cy Young Award-winning pitcher Tim Lincecum and the entire San Francisco Giants organization.

It wasn’t long before Flannery got involved in fundraising efforts and, through a few concert performances and DVD sales of a show, he has generated almost $70,000 for the cause.

His efforts haven’t gone unnoticed as Phil Lesh and Bob Weir (founding members of the Grateful Dead) named Tim as their Sports Illustrated “Sportsman of the Year” last year (see http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/magazine/sportsman/11/27/Tim-Flannery-Phil-Lesh-Bob-Weir/index.html).

“Flan” continues his mission with the four shows this month.

On October 25, 2012, the world became a little brighter as Bryan attended Game 2 of the World Series at AT&T Park (Giants vs. Tigers).

We ask that you help spread the word and heighten the awareness of the forthcoming performances.
